Answers/Migration

Should I clean up my data before migrating CRMs?

Yes, cleaning your data before migration is the most important step. Moving dirty data into a new CRM just means you have dirty data in a new place. Take the migration as an opportunity to start fresh with clean, accurate information.

Start by removing duplicates, deleting leads that are clearly dead (inquired 2+ years ago, never converted, no recent activity), and updating contact information for active leads. Mark leads as active or historical before importing.

For most small businesses, the best approach is to only import leads from the last 6-12 months. These are your active pipeline. Historical data can stay in a CSV backup if you ever need it, but it does not need to clutter your new CRM.
